The Church Library

The Church Library contains a large number and wide variety of Christian books, including books about the Bible, and Bible commentaries.

There are books on Prayer and the disciplines that make up the devotional life of the Christian, books on Theology and ethical issues, biographies books for children and teenagers, resource books of all sorts, Christian classics, such as 'Joni', 'The Hiding Place', 'The Cross and the Switchblade', 'The Screwtape Letters' and other books by C.S.Lewis, 'Celebration of Discipline', 'God of Surprises' and several books by the late John Stott.

There are also many new books that Barry Vendy has reviewed for the online Good Book Stall Guide.

The library is housed upstairs in the balcony but an illustrated catalogue will be on display downstairs. If you don't wish to scale the winding staircase yourself (and not many do!), you can request a book and Barry will bring it down for you.

Please sign books out, you may keep them for up to four weeks and please add your comments to the catalogue on books that you have read

Donations of books which you feel would be of interest to the wider church community are always welcome (so long as we have the right to say, 'We've already got that one, thanks', or to turn down a book if we feel it's unsuitable - very much a last resort probably). Happy reading!

I give you a new commandment, that you love one another. Just as I have loved you, you also should love one another.

- John 13 v34
